OPERATION & MAINTENANCE OF SERVO VOLTAGE STABILIZER

Voltage stabilizers are manufactured to exacting quality standards, however,in the unlikely Event there may be some problems, therefore proper operation & maintenance could be enhanced the life span of servo voltage stabilizer, with regular and periodical maintenance schedule we are  able to get reliable output as well as better efficiency of equipment. Here we are giving fault diagnostic chart which could be useful in diagnoses the fault in servo voltage stabilizer so that we can take necessary corrective and preventive measures.

Inspection Notes

Action reqd. if inspection shows unsatisfactory conditions

1

Monthly
i.  Oil level in SVS

ii.  Connections
Check Oil level

Check tightness
If low, top up with dry oil.  Examine SVS for leaks If loose, tighten
2
Quarterly
i. Terminals

Examine for cracks and dirt deposits.
Clean or replace
3
Half-yearly
Gasketted Joints, Gauges and general paint work
Check of moisture under cover inspects.
 Improve ventilation, check oil.
4
Yearly
i.  Oil in SVS

ii. Megger Value
Check for dielectric Strength
More than 10Mohm
Take suitable action to restore quality of oil.If value is less than 10Mohm,
