INSTALLATION AND COMMISSIONING OF SERVO VOLTAGE STABILIZER
Voltage stabilizers are manufactured to exacting
quality standards, however, in the unlikely event there may be some problems, therefore
proper installation and commissioning is must for efficient operation of servo
voltage stabilizer. Here we are giving some important tips for proper
installation and commissioning of servo voltage stabilizer:
INSTALLATION:
The voltage stabilizer must be installed at well
ventilated place, It should be installed in such a way that at least one meter
space is available all around. The voltage stabilizer is dispatched in
completely assembled state ready for use and only incoming and outgoing cables
are to be connected by customer and the panel is required to be connected
through the plug-in-cable. Two separate earth connections are to be provided at
two places marked on the body of voltage stabilizer. The incoming supply of
voltage stabilizer should come from incoming source via circuit breaker/mains. The
output supply of voltage stabilizer should be connected to distribution
cable/distribution panel through which the load is connected. The cable and
cable lugs are to be connected to voltage stabilizer should be of proper rating.
The voltage stabilizer does not require any foundation. However the place where
stabilizer is to be placed should at least have a brick floor so that it may
take its weight and it should be leveled.
COMMISSIONING:
1. Fix the
panel on top of the voltage stabilizer. Connect the control cable with the
panel by fixing plug in socket.
2. Open the
cover of input terminal box and connect the input supply from source to the
input of voltage stabilizer through connections. Lugs should be properly
crimped and should be properly tightened up while connecting voltage
stabilizer.
3. Open the
cover of output terminal box, connect the output of voltage stabilizer through
connections to the distribution panel/cable lugs should be properly crimped and
should be properly tightened while connecting voltage stabilizer.
4. Connect
two separate earth points to the body of the voltage stabilizer at the earth
point marked on the bottom.
5. Check for
insulation resistance with 500V equipment between phase and body. Minimum value
should be 50megaohm. If the job is installed within one month of dispatch no IR
test is required.
6. Put
control panel in auto mode and set output voltage through output voltage
setting pot.
OPERATING
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Please check connections on regular basis for any
looseness.
2. Please
check the brass rods for signs of sparking caused due to lose connections, clean
it and tighten it properly on regular basis.
3. After one
year of use the transformer oil should be filtered on yearly basis, it will
ensure longer life for voltage stabilizer.
4. You may
require replacing the carbon brushes after three or five years for proper
operation.
5. Oil level on the oil gauge should be checked at
regular intervals.
6. Insulation
resistance results should be taken at six months interval.
7. Check the
temperature on the temperature meter while in use. Your equipment is designed
for 50Deg above ambient temperature. Ambient temperature in tropical climate
varies between 1 Deg C to 46 Deg C. If temperature regularly and frequently
goes 30Deg C above ambient, kindly maintain record.
